On Monday 19th January, 36 members of Years 5 and 6 travelled up to London to take part in one of the biggest massed choir concerts in the UK, Young Voices at the O2 Stadium. Joining forces with nearly 9,000 other young singers, our pupils rehearsed and performed a wide range of musical genres and styles, from pop and disco to sea shanties and musical theatre, accompanied by a live band, professional singers and the Urban Strides dance troupe.

Goring pupils were seated high up in the stadium (nearly touching the roof!) which was a daunting prospect even for those who did not suffer from vertigo! But once the houselights went down and the stage lights went up, any nerves were vanquished and the children spent an hour and a half smiling, cheering, singing and dancing their hearts out for a capacity audience.

Riley, Year 5, said, "I loved it when it went dark and we all lit our torches - it was like a sea of lights." Emiley, Year 6, said, "My favourite part was absolutely all of it and I wish we could do it all again!"
