Who is Jesus?
Last week we commissioned artist Marie-Therese King to help our Year1 to Year 6 pupils create a piece of hand drawn Batik.
The children created drawings after discussing the theme 'Who is Jesus'. Marie helped the children to collaborate their ideas to create a large scale design to reflect our Ethos of Love, Faith and Learning.
Batik is a dyeing technique using wax resist. Hot Bee's wax was applied to a cotton canvas using a kistka and dye was hand painted with brushed. The process was repeated to create depth and colour contrast.
